Stratford Welcomes 80 Student-Athletes  to Campus

On August 1, 2017 and August 2, 2017 Stratford University welcomed 80 new Student-Athletes to the Cardinal Family.  Many of the new Student-Athletes moved into their new homes at the brand new Pinnacle Apartments in Hampton, VA and joined all of the Student-Athletes at the Athletic Orientation on the Newport News Campus.  Coaches Cousineau, Chatman, Enders and Elledge's first recruiting class consists of Student-Athletes from numerous states on the east coast, which includes Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, New Jersey and New York.  "Having the ability to offer housing options to our Student-Athletes has allowed us to recruit not only in Hampton Roads but up and down the east coast", said Athletic Director Chris Sawyer.  "We feel we have been able to bring in not only talented athletes but exceptional students.  The entire University is excited about our first year in the USCAA and I know all of our teams will be extremely competitive".  The Cardinals first ever athletic game will be on August 22, 2017 when the Women's Soccer Team hosts Regent University in Newport News, VA and Men's Basketball's first game will be on November 3, 2017 in New York City against Berkley College.  Softball and Baseball will participate in Fall drills and will open their Spring seasons in February.  Baseball will host Florida National University on Feb 2, 2018 and Softball will travel to Southeastern Community College on February 6, 2018 in Whiteville, VA.
