Stratford Beats Wake Tech 6-1

The Stratford Women's Soccer team traveled to Raleigh, NC on 10/12/17 to face the Lady Eagles of Wake Tech Community College.  Stratford had previously beaten Wake Tech earlier in the season to earn the University's first ever athletic victory. The Lady Cardinals wasted no time establishing their dominance as Freshman Diadra Hill scored 4 minutes into the game.  The 1-0 lead quickly turned into a 4-0 lead as Hill added her second goal and Freshman Sidney Tredway added 2 goals of her own.  Wake Tech tried to get their offense going, however, Kat Sanchez, Kayla Powell, Janaysia Jones and Anela Ribic made it difficult for the Lady Eagles to get any shots off.  Goalkeeper Makayla Price had 9 saves and was eventually subbed out of the game at the 75th minute.  Price was put back in the game at the forward position for the first time in her collegiate career.  The first time she touched the ball she scored her first collegiate goal.  Diadra Hill added her 3rd goal of the game on a corner kick from Anela Ribic.  This was Hill's 2nd Hat Trick of the season and the game ended with a 6-1 Stratford victory.  The Lady Cardinals return to action this Sunday 10/15/17 when they host University of South Carolina-Lancaster.  They will look to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Lancers earlier this season.
