The Stratford University Cardinals beat Christendom College 12-1 in 8 innings on Saturday to sweep the weekend conference series, 3-0. Five Cardinals had 2 hits, while Justin Smith had 3 hits with a double and 3 RBIs. Jordan Carter was 2 for 5 with 2 2Bs and Cody Burnham was 2 for 4 with 2 2Bs and 4 RBIs.

Brady Hill got his first collegiate start and win, going two innings allowing 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, and 0 strikeouts. Ryan Rhodes, Tim Gromkoski, Carson Willis, Brian Harris, Christian Mandic, and Spencer Cooley all went one inning in relief, combining for 6 innings, 3 hits, R, ER, 4 BB, 4 K.

 

On the weekend, the Cardinals' offensive line was dominant:

  • 87 ABs, 40 R, 26 H, 33 RBIs, 24 BB, 8 SB, .299 average, .575 OBP

 

The Pitching Staff had a stellar weekend as well:

  • 19 IP, 14 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 9 BB, 22 K, 1.89 ERA, 1.21 WHIP

 

The series sweep moves Stratford to 17-15 overall and 9-4 vs USCAA competition. The Cardinals' next game is Tuesday, April 10 at the Apprentice School (War Memorial Stadium), 3pm start time. The Apprentice School is currently the #1 ranked team in the USCAA. The Cardinals won the only previous matchup 8-6 in February.
