The Stratford University Baseball team rebounded from a tough loss on Thursday night in a big way, as they collected 18 hits and scored 16 runs in a 16-4 victory over Paul D. Camp in the Hampton Roads Cup on Friday afternoon.

Jordan Carter led the way offensively for the Cardinals as he was a perfect 5-5 at the plate with a HBP, two doubles, scored two runs and drove in three of his own.  Justin Smith set the table scoring four runs in the afternoon game and led the game off with a double in the right center gap on the first pitch of the game.  Austin Elledge, Andrew Brooks, Luis Cintron and Jake Brewer each collected two hits with Brewer added a double off the right field wall in the victory.  Elledge touched home plate three times, while Brooks and Brewer each scored twice.  Brooks added three RBI, while Elledge and Mark Copenhaver each drive in two runs as well.

Luis Cintron got the start on the mound and struck out four hitters over four innings, while only allowing one earned run to pick up his first win of the season.  The Cardinals improve to 2-1 on the year and return to action on Saturday with a 2:30 pm start against Bryant & Stratton to wrap up play in the Hampton Roads Cup.
