The Stratford University Men's Basketball team opened the 2018-19 season with a strong offensive showing Saturday night at the Boo Williams Sportplex, as they defeated Kent St. - Tuscarawas 105-64.
The Cardinals had a 54-37 lead at the half and followed up their 54 point half with a 51 point second half to cruise to victory. DeAndre Demiel led Stratford in scoring with 25 points, with many of them coming most of them coming while attacking the rim. The Cardinals were balanced in scoring on the night as Kendall Marshall, 15 points, Kendall Shepherd, 14 points, Jamonte Ricks, 13 points, and Dominque Williams, 12 points, joined Demiel in double digits.
Stratford moves to 1-0 on the season and both teams return to action Sunday with a noon start at the Boo Williams Sportsplex.
