Cardinals Drop Two at Penn St. Brandywine

The Stratford University softball took a trip up to Media, PA for a doubleheader with Penn State Brandywine and unfortunately the Cardinals fell on the wrong side of the scoreboard in the two games, dropping the opener 8-2 and the nightcap 5-0.  The matchup was a top ten matchup, as Stratford was ranked 8th and PSU Brandywine was ranked 9th in the latest USCAA Softball poll.

Game 1

Haylee Winfree was a perfect 3-3 at the plate, with two runs scored and a double, while Cardinal RBI's were collected by Sadie Sly and Karla Martinez.  Veronica Acevedo dropped to 4-3 on the year, as she took the loss in the circle during the opener.

Game 2

Julia Conner led the Cardinals at the plate with two hits at the plate in the nightcap.  Winfree, Isabella Garibaldi and Karla Martinez each collected a hit in the loss, while Katie Farrow saw her record fall to 3-5 on the year as she took the loss in the circle.
