History was made Friday night at the Julie Conn Rec Center, as the Stratford University Women's Basketball program hosted their first home game in program history, as they hosted Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg. The first half action was high scoring and included an up and down pace, which saw CU-Harrodsburg jump out to a 27-22 lead after the opening quarter and held a 45-40 lead at the half. The second half was a different story though, as Stratford struggled to keep pace with the Tigers, as they were outscored 48-28 while falling 93-68.
Shannel Pope led the way for Stratford with 16 points and 3 steals, while three other Lady Cardinals scored in double-digits as Imani Jenkins added 12 points, Synquist Strothers scored 11 points and Ashley Cunningham dropped 10 points. Yolanda Fells added a double digit rebounding night with 10 boards and Nyare Evans blocked 2 shots.
Stratford falls to 2-4 on the year and returns to action on December 15th with an away contest at Thomas Nelson.
