One thing that can be said about the first year Stratford Women's Basketball team, is that they are not afraid to play from behind.  For the second game in a row, the Lady Cardinals overcame a six point fourth quarter deficit to pull a victory out of a bleak outlook, defeating the University of Cincinnati - Clermont 55-54 in overtime.

Chanel Pope and Nyare Evans both notched double-doubles in the win as they tied for a team high 14 points, while Evans grabbed 12 rebounds and Pope added 10.  Yolanda Fells pulled down 12 rebounds, but fell a point shy of the double-double with 9 points.  Synquist Strothers added 12 points, 8 rebounds and game high 6 steals.

Stratford held the Cougars to 29.7% from the field and did not allow a made three point attempt from a defensive effort that tallied 11 steals.  The Lady Cardinals held the Cougars to 4-20 from the field in the fourth quarter and overtime period.

Stratford improves to 2-0 on the season and returns to action on Saturday night, as they wrap up play in the Penn State Fayette Tip Off Tournament, with a 7:00 pm tip against Andrews University.
